  • Need helping with importing and then exporting .fbx

I use 3D Coat to create sculptures/models. I can export a .fbx from 3D Coat and import that same .fbx into Cascadeur and mess with the model fine. However, when I export the model/object from Cascadeur as an .fbx and then try to import that .fbx back into 3D Coat (or even Cascadeur), there's no model. Here's what I'm doing step by step:

I start a new project in Cascadeur

    I go to File > Import Fbx/Dae > Model

I import the model I made in 3D Coat

I do some tinkering with the model in Cascadeur

But then whenever I try to import that .fbx into 3D Coat, there's no model

Same result if I import that tinkered with .fbx into a new Cascadeur project.

Wow, what a detailled description of an issue!
        Thank you for your work!

Here is the explanation what happened:
When you are exporting without a mesh, it means there will be no mesh in the target file.
There is no skeleton in your file (only mesh), so exporting without a mesh will result in an empty fbx file.

Okay, that makes sense and seems to have fixed my problem. Thanks
